**Your New Career**:
This role sits within the Communications and Community Engagement Team. We are a creative and collaborative team who are committed to effective communications and meaningful community engagement with Surf Coast communities.

We prioritise timely, relevant and inclusive communications for all segments of our communities, including First Nations people, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and for people of all ages and abilities.

**What you will bring to the role**:
We are currently looking for a dedicated communications professional who values a positive and supportive team culture. You will be confident providing timely strategic advice on communications and media management, and consistently produce high quality information, specifically to support the Mayor and Councillors.

**Mandatory Requirements (Skills & Experience)**
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or public relations with several years of relevant experience in a similar role or extensive relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated high level writing, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to deadline.
- Competency in PC-based communications software packages.

The successful applicant will also need to meet the below criteria:

- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
- A current WWCC.
