Our Records Management Team ensures compliance with the Public Records Act while helping staff confidently manage both digital and hard copy records.
As our new Records Management Officer, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping things running smoothly — from supporting colleagues with our electronic document management system (EDRMS) to safeguarding the information that underpins Council's work for the community.

- Confidence with technology and digital recordkeeping tools
Key selection criteria
Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements
- Experience in records management or similar role.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of records management processes and systems, including knowledge and experience of EDRMS – preferably Content Manager.
- Completion of a Certificate course in Records/Business/Administration or more experience in a similar environment.
- Data entry experience and high attention to detail.
- Follow established work practices and be accurate in the capture of metadata.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a small team.
- Experience in Local Government.
- A current Working With Children Check
- You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia
- Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
