Procurement and Industry Officer

Influence improved procurement performance outcomes and compliance across all categories of spend managed by Chief Procurement Officers within all agencies as they relate to the Queensland Indigenous Procurement Policy (QIPP).
- Lead designated projects that deliver on policy and program objectives and develop and implement solutions to increasing Indigenous business capability to supply goods and services to the Queensland Government or Queensland Government procurement from Indigenous businesses.
- Provide high level strategic advice, analysis and reporting to senior management and departmental officers on procurement practices and knowledge of contemporary issues impacting on procurement from Indigenous owned businesses, including in relation to leveraging outcomes from procurement related policies, programs and supply chains.
- Establish, maintain and support effective relationships, networks and partnerships with the Department's regional offices and Queensland government agencies to provide tactical and operational advice and assistance on practical and effective ways to respond to procurement issues.
- Provide strategic analysis of data to inform the development and implementation of projects that relate to the increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander economic participation, including reporting obligations of the QIPP.
- Promoting positive procurement engagement outcomes through the development of relevant targeted content.
- Contribute to the evaluation of whole-of-government procurement policies and programs, including assessing their effectiveness on economic participation outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Prepare complex and substantial reports, submissions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence in relation to strategic procurement policy and program initiatives that will provide advice and information to the Director and the Senior and Executive Officers within the department and Minister's Office.
- Work with other team members and teams within the branch to ensure effective information sharing, communication and maximising branch outcomes through effective collaboration.
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the department.
