The roleReporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will provide executive leadership to the disaster management branch and take initiative in the development, coordination, delivery, and performance monitoring of state-wide programs relating to disaster management. You will assist the COO with implementation of system-wide initiatives with a focus on contributing to positive health outcomes and delivering better value for our patients and workforce. Additionally, you will be required to work on priority initiatives in a high demand and fast paced environment with competing demands and extreme deadlines whilst achieving high quality outcomes. You will also be required to work on matters of high sensitivity concerning the department of health and the state's health system on a broader level.

**The successful personYou will have**:

- Demonstrated experience in disaster management, across all phases of Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery (PPRR) within the health sector and at state agency level.
- Demonstrated success as a strategic leader, responsible for management and delivery of priority programs
- Demonstrated experience working within a complex system or organisation with devolved accountabilities and responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to bring together and synthesize information from various stakeholders to formulate advice to senior stakeholders, including Ministers, Director-General, and Chief Executives.
- Demonstrated leadership and knowledge of contemporary, best practice executive services management, including functions relating to Cabinet and Parliamentary processes, correspondence and briefing note management activities, agency liaison requirements and whole-of-government requirements
- Degree in Medicine (MBBS or equivalent) from a registered tertiary institution
- Fellowship of an Australian Medical Specialist College
- Unrestricted General and Specialist registration as a medical officer with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A minimum of five (5) year's senior healthcare leadership experience, would be well regarded.
