**Are you up for the challenge?**:
We are currently seeking a** Plant Superintendent** to join our National Plant Group in the WA Rail business, based out of our Welshpool Depot with some elements of ad hoc travel required, mainly within WA.

This is a key role which is responsible for planning and delivering all relevant scopes of plant maintenance works.

You will provide effective leadership and sustainable working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to contribute to site safety, quality and environment controls and risk management.

**About the Role**:

- Manage Supervisors to implement preventative maintenance planning on time and within budget for all scopes of work/s whilst leading and driving the John Holland culture, principles and values.
- Responsible for the reporting of plant utilisation rates, maintenance repairs, project recovery costs and key performance indicators
- Manage the building maintenance and day to day operations of the Plant Maintenance facilities in Welshpool.
- Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed
- Manage industrial relations issues and implications and develop appropriate resolution
- Conduct thorough performance management evaluation for direct and indirect reports
- Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures
- Provide leadership in risk management, identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture
- Utilise project planning skills to plan work, monitor implementation and effectiveness to achieve outcomes for quarterly goals
- Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take remedial action as required
- Responsible for the allocation of labour resources for all planned and unplanned work. Provide assistance to the National Maintenance Planner to allocate resources in the maintenance plan for National Plant Group, WA.
- Responsible for identifying training needs for maintenance and operations staff
- Contribute to, seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems and procedures

**About You**:
This position will see you holding relevant trade or engineering qualifications, as well as having significant proven leadership and management experience, ideally in a Superintendent role.

You will be able to demonstrate:

- Proven trade, construction and industry relevant experience in operations of a similar scale
- Management experience of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
- High level understanding of maintenance schedules
- Experience in dealing with logistics and transport.
