Lead Site Plumbing Operations on a Flagship WA Iron Ore Project
Our client is one of Western Australia's fastest growing mining and civil contractors, with a strong reputation for delivering integrated services across iron ore and infrastructure projects. With ongoing development at their mine site village, we are now seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to oversee all plumbing, gas, and water infrastructure across the camp and project facilities.
This role is site-based on a 2:1 FIFO roster and plays a critical part in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality plumbing outcomes.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for supervising a small team and managing all plumbing systems across accommodation, camp services, and operational facilities. You'll also act as the Plumbing Nominee for the site, ensuring compliance with WA plumbing, gas fitting, and water regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Install, maintain and repair potable water, wastewater, drainage, and RO systems
- Maintain bore water and dewatering infrastructure across the site
- Supervise poly welding works for water and slurry lines
- Oversee installation and servicing of pumps, vacuum trucks, and associated equipment
- Operate plant and equipment such as excavators, loaders, telehandlers and backhoes
- Manage excavation, trenching and backfilling works ensuring protection of underground services
- Lead and mentor the Facility Support team, holding daily pre-starts and toolbox meetings
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments for effective project delivery
- Manage safety compliance, quality control, and accurate reporting to project managers
- Act as Plumbing Nominee, signing off on plumbing work per statutory requirements
What You'll Need:
- Trade-qualified and licensed plumber – Essential
- Current WA Class C driver's licence (HR preferred)
- White Card, Senior First Aid (HLTAID003), CPR (HLTAID001), 4WD Cert – Required
- Supervisor training and Section 44 – Required or willing to obtain
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a plumbing supervisory role
- Strong working knowledge of mine site safety, water systems, and infrastructure
- Capable of managing resources, schedules, and labour across multiple active jobs
- Experience operating plant and working in remote environments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
