The Role

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced HR Generalist to join the Clayton Utz Brisbane office on a fixed term contract until December 2025. Reporting to the People and Development Manager, this role will provide trusted HR advice to our partners, managers and employees as part of the broader Brisbane P&D team. This could be a full-time position or there is flexibility available at 4 days per week.

This role is responsible for driving the delivery of effective people initiatives and operations across the partner and employee life-cycle. This position provides support with local Brisbane office initiatives, actively contributes to P&D project work and supports the P&D Manager in delivering the people strategy.

The People and Development (P&D) team

With a presence in each of our offices, the national P&D team forms part of our Business Advisory Services department. The P&D team provides strategic business partnering support to the business on P&D issues, driving and delivering a range of initiatives to ensure that Clayton Utz is a great place to work. In this team you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from specialists across multiple fields including Risk Management, Workplace Relations, D&I and Flexibility.

Responsibilities, knowledge and initiatives will include:

- Commercial focus to Business Partnering
- Remuneration and benefits
- Performance, talent management and workforce planning
- Employee relations, WHS and policy advice
- Management of employee matters
- Culture, engagement and mental health awareness
- Coaching and mentoring
- Diversity & Inclusion
- Support to the Graduate Lawyer & Clerkship programs.

Skills & Experience
- Relevant HR generalist experience in a similar business partnering role in a complex, professional and highly client focused environment
- Proven abilities in developing and maintaining relationships with key and senior stakeholders
- The ability to drive projects and decisions through to completion
- Experience working within the legal profession or in professional services (advantageous although not essential).
