Our client is a leading food exporter with a global focus with an impressive portfolio of brands, and a reputation for innovation, sustainability, diversity and inclusive. With record financial metrics in the last couple of years, they have continued to grow through product innovation and acquisition.

About the Role

You will be joining a well-established product development team, reporting through to the Head of R&D. You will lead the development of new products in two key growth categories, and be responsible for design, delivery and reporting on factory trials, shelf-life testing and documentation. You will be responsible for working closely with suppliers and co-manufacturers, both locally and offshore. You will enjoy demonstrating your strong commercial acumen and working closely with the marketing and consumer insights teams.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 5 years’ experience in an NPD role within FMCG, strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross functionally and demonstrate a collaborative communication style. You will be solutions orientated, proactive and keen to run projects and roll up the sleeves, with that “can do” attitude.

Key accountabilities include:

- Compliance to development processes & ensures regulatory constraints/opportunities are considered when developing products.
- Develop project timelines and key milestones with business stakeholders highlighting and communicating risks appropriately. Proactively seek solutions for risk mitigation.
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of all key development activities, including raw material & finished product specifications, factory trial reports and SAP data.
- Communication - Advanced timely communication with all business stakeholders and co-manufacturer with clear message of project timelines, key milestones and risk mitigation
- Consumer driven NPD - interpret data and insights, translate into NPD brief.
- Customer Focus - Identifying requirements and providing technical support when requested.
