Head of Audit

**About the Role**
The Head of Audit is an exciting, leadership role within the Group Internal Audit division here at BOQ. With the flexibility to be based out of our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office, this role will support our Chief Audit Executive in carrying out the internal audit work required in providing independent and objective assurance to the Bank and its stakeholders. This exciting opportunity will see you work across all of BOQ Group's brands, including Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank.

As Head of Audit, you will be responsible for:

- Determination of an appropriate internal audit universe (for portfolio of responsibility) that is dynamic and reflects the current and emerging risks facing the business.
- Management of internal audit activity across portfolio of responsibility
- Continuous improvement of the internal audit team.
- Actively seeking opportunities for the Internal Audit function to develop tools and methodologies for its reviews that the business will be able to use to enhance its efficiency and risk management.
- Pro-actively providing risk management and internal control leadership and support regarding effective operating and designed controls, risk mitigation strategies and overall compliance with BOQ policies and procedures.
- Identifying gaps/ improvements in the business operations and work with the business and the risk, compliance and assurance functions to drive sustainable improvements in the Group governance, risk and control environment.

**About you**

A customer service focus and superior written and verbal communication skills will see you thrive in the role, as you will be liaising with senior management, external auditors and regulators on a regular basis.

We'd love you to have previous experience with leadership and coaching, as you will be looked upon to champion, inspire and coach both individuals and teams in their career development at all stages.

Ideally you will have worked within Financial or Professional Services, and an understanding of Banking, to ensure you hit the ground running.
