- This role is classified as Level 3_ role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement_ (with a base salary range of $89,140 - $96,482)._ The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience_ and in alignment with this framework.

The Department

The Legal Division is an award-winning, high performing and engaged cross-disciplinary team of lawyers, rights experts, archivists and information governance specialists. Our purpose is to provide proactive, enabling advice and support to manage risk and contribute to SBS to achieving its goals. Wellbeing is also part of our job

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel (who is also the FOI Decision maker and Privacy Officer), the Privacy & Information Advisor will play a critical role in SBS’s Privacy and Data Safety strategy, and assisting the work of the Legal team as a whole

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing Freedom of Information requests and requirements, including gathering information, drafting responses, and tracking deadlines.
- Managing privacy requests, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and participating in the Privacy and Data Safety group at SBS.
- Assisting with broader matters which arise in the SBS Legal team '“ which could include research and assistance with legal matters, preparation of training materials, and other support activities.

As part of the centralised SBS Legal team, the role will contribute to providing first class and enabling legal support and advice to all SBS teams '“ and will be a central point of contact for Privacy and FOI matters.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings:

- Interest or experience in the areas of Privacy and/or Freedom of Information Requests
- Demonstrated success in managing project timelines and reporting requirements.
- Expertise or confidence in using different systems and software products for records management,
- Enthusiasm, and a willingness to pitch in with the many and varied issues that can crop up in an in house media legal team.
