An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accessories Design Assistant (Fixed-Term Contract) to join Aje. Based at our Sydney Head Office and reporting directly to the Senior Accessories Designer, this role will see you responsible for supporting the Senior Accessories Designer in accurately executing the designs of each collection through artworks, CAD, technical files and clearly communicating with vendors to achieve the aesthetic, construction and functional goal aligned to the standards of Aje and AJE ATHLETICA.

**As an Accessories Design Assistant, your tasks will include**:

- Supporting the Senior Accessories Designer in all phases of the development process
- Creating CADs that are accurate in design, proportion, construction and materials
- Meeting of each milestone in the development critical path to ensure accurate samples are received within the set deadlines for each collection
- Providing our vendors with all necessary documents to support the accuracy and promptness of the approval process (through instruction sheets, protos, strike off comments)
- Creating technical files and design sheets with all necessary design, construction, leather, trim and reference information
- Daily correspondence with suppliers to meet development critical path
- Ensuring samples are showroom ready for range reviews
- Managing and tracking all leather, material and trims
- Executing rendering illustrations, sketch colour ups and print allocations
- General design department administration such as filing, sorting and tracking samples

**You will bring**:

- 2 year’s experience in a similar designer role
- A strong visual eye for modern design and level of attention to detail that aligns to the Aje and AJE ATHLETICA creative universe
- Creative, enthusiastic and willingness to expand your knowledge in footwear, jewellery, leather goods, soft goods and sport accessories
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Excel
- Prior experience liaising with factories and knowledge of the approval process
- Forward planning and priority assessment to ensure all deadlines allocated are met
- Strong communication skills that will be able to influence all team members and stakeholders no matter what position they hold
- Foresight and problem solving skills that generate practical insights and solutions when they may arise
- A strategic mindset and innovative thinking that continuously identifies opportunities that align with our Aje goals and values
