**Job Description**:
This role is perfect for a driven, passionate and experienced Major Gifts Manager who believes in a preventative mental health approach and has a strong track record in engaging high net worth donors behind a mission.
Through successful engagement you will play a pivotal role in making systematic change to the way in which wellbeing and mental health is being addressed within schools, homes, communities and workplaces to empower young people to grow up with the skills they need to thrive while at the same time offering value back to partners.
The Major Gifts Manager will take a leadership role in diving major gifts growth of all aspects of donor prospect research, cultivation, and conversion in support of Smiling Minds’ ambitious organisational strategy. Prospects include major donors & trusts and foundations.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising but also engaging with a supportive, collaborative CEO and board, you’ll be responsible for building an ongoing Major Gifts strategy to take donor engagement to the next level.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Taking a leadership role in developing a comprehensive and successful major gifts strategy
- Inputting into and assisting with a large-scale comprehensive campaign
- Working to ensure successful cultivation and stewardship of major donors across the country including the design and implementation of annual calendars of unique and engaging touchpoints and events
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date stewardship plans and donor history on the CRM (we use Hubspot)
- Achieving personal annual relationship touchpoint and income targets
- Developing new and promoting existing investment and giving opportunities for donors across all Smiling Mind strategic pillars
- Developing and aligning proposals to Smiling Mind’s organisational strategy and impact ambitions
- Working closely with the wider team to ensure all proposals align with core business and drive growth opportunities for the organisation
Please note this is a part time (0.6) 2 year contract (with potential for extension).
**Qualifications**:
We're looking for someone with the following experience and skills:
- Experience in a Major Gifts role with a commitment to delivering excellence in donor management
- Driven by the desire to help supporters fulfil their passion for this cause by appropriately ‘making the ask’ at the right time
- A natural problem solver and strategic, creative thinker, who can collaborate and create efficient and effective processes to deliver on the strategy
- Demonstrated success in developing a prospect pipeline and delivering on asking for and closing gifts
- Demonstrated success in building tailored relationships and multi
- tiered connections
- Strong analytical mind and critical thinking, with an emphasis on designing and delivering effective program solutions
- Ability to analyse and interpret data effectively to inform decisions and effective solutions
- Able to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to positively influence outcomes and results for our donors
- An inquisitive nature, with a high degree of curiosity. You love to collaborate and share your knowledge with the wider team
- Working knowledge of project management software, including CRM systems (Hubspot would be a bonus) with an interest in developing and reviewing systems, processes and procedures
- An understanding and passion for the role mindfulness can play in the development of young people and its benefits within the school setting
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal), with positive attitude to problem solving and ability to work within teams to find solutions.
