Design Lead

**About the role**

We're looking for a dynamic Design Lead to elevate the creative excellence of our Creative Services team. In this exciting role, you'll work closely with our Creative Services Director to lead and inspire a talented team of designers, video creators, and Creative Producers across all aspects of Mamamia. You'll be the creative visionary who brings together diverse creative disciplines to deliver innovative, top-quality solutions that truly resonate with our mission to empower women. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll not only guide strategic creative direction but also roll up your sleeves to deliver exceptional work across tentpole campaigns, new brands, and product launches. Based in Sydney, you'll have the opportunity to shape the visual identity of Australia's most influential women's media brand while nurturing and developing a team of creative professionals.

**Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us**:

- Leading creative strategy and providing guidance across video, animation, illustration, design and creative conceptualisation
- Managing all aspects of the design process from brief to research, ideation, and final creative execution
- Leading and managing rebranding opportunities across the business, including new products and existing product refreshes
- Building relationships across the business to cultivate briefs, manage feedback and advocate for your team
- Managing and developing a team of designers (including offshore team members) through regular WIPs and career progression planning
- Working directly with the Creative Services Director to concept new ideas and oversee their rollout
- Implementing processes to improve creative output quality and workflow management
- Taking initiative to question briefs and work with key leaders to create the best possible outcomes

**Now, a bit about you**
- Strong experience in graphic design, video, branding and creative strategy with a proven track record of delivering exceptional work
- Ability to lead, build and energise a team of creatives while also loving being hands-on with the work
- A pixel-perfect eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative, unique design that stands out- Experience in team management and the ability to identify areas for development and suggest relevant training
- Capability to work well under pressure while communicating effectively with team members and meeting tight deadlines
- A passion for doing excellent work with the confidence to question and change processes when needed
- The ability to think strategically beyond single tactics to deliver comprehensive creative solutions
