Rare Opportunity to Establish a New Business Unit/Greenfield Operation - Build the Business with Existing Commercial Aircraft Contracts & Relationships - Genuine Leadership Role - "Hands-On" - Focus On Service Delivery & Excellence **Company Overview**: Our client is the leading aftermarket supplier of aircraft wheels and brakes and offer all operators a simple alternative to traditional component management. Depending on the customers’ needs, they provide aftermarket wheels and brakes either through a long-term program or as outright sales to a recurring customer base, as well as factory new wheels and brakes piece parts and assemblies across all types and platforms. With a sharp niche focus, they are considered the best at what they do. They combine market expertise with extensive maintenance capabilities and a global footprint, and guarantee quality, simplicity, and value for all their customers worldwide, anywhere, anytime. As a result of continued and dynamic growth, they are now establishing a new MRO facility in Brisbane at Hendra. The lease was signed last week and they are now seeking to appoint the site lead for the operation, which is this role. You will report to the local Managing Director located in Melbourne and he will be present to assist you with integrating into the business and helping you to understand business systems, processes, customers and expectations. This is a highly autonomous role and initially it will be more "Project Management Focused" establishing the business and getting it operational in accordance with projected timelines and budgets. You will be responsible for building the employee base with the requirement to employ 20 staff to meet weekly volume projections. **Key Selection Criteria**: - Possess either an Aircraft Engineering Degree **OR** formal trade qualification as an Aircraft Mechanic (AME) with a Cert IV in Aero-skills or equivalent, supported by additional specialist study and/or qualifications within Aerospace &/or Management - Previous experience working as a Maintenance Manager or equivalent engaged with multiple stakeholders in an aircraft sustainment environment - Ideally - possess extensive maintenance and repair experience with "Wheels & Brakes" in the commercial aviation sector - projected weekly turnover will be in excess of 120 Tyres & Brake Assemblies - Possess the ability to identify new MRO/Business opportunities with the customer/s - Integrate with established relationships i.e. all key program stakeholders and decision makers at a local level - Review and Implement existing work programs/standards to ensure alignment to local & international standards and company work practices - Ensure the commercial feasibility of any opportunities with appropriate margins, delivery time frames and quality in conjunction with the leadership team - Ensure appropriate approvals and sign off is completed at **ALL **times with the client and all relevant internal and external stakeholder **What’s on Offer**: Ideally, our client is seeking to appoint this position ASAP i.e. to start in the role ideally the last week of May or sooner if possible. On offer to attract a strong pool of applicants is an attractive & negotiable salary package circa $125,000. For the right person and based on the depth of experience, there maybe some flexibility with package parameters.
