Freedom of Information Reviewer

**About the Role**

We are seeking enthusiastic Freedom of Information Reviewers to join our team on a casual basis. We are an award-winning, small and friendly team. FOI Reviewers are responsible for careful review of Grampians Health records for release under the _Freedom of Information Act 1982 _(Vic). This includes patient records. FOI Reviewers need strong attention to detail and highest ethical standards. **Long periods of concentration and focus are required.**

The work will suit those with a nursing or clinical background who may be looking for some casual work (at HS1 level). Previous experience with patient records is highly regarded.

Please note that due to the nature of the work, these roles are office-based only.

**Key Responsibilities**

Complete initial training on Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation and internal guidelines to understand role requirements. Conduct thorough reviews of patient records, including assessing applicant rights, monitoring statutory timeframes, and preparing documentation as needed
. Evaluate legal risks and consult with the Legal Services team; finalize file reviews, including cost calculations and updates to the records management system
. Provide additional administrative support as directed by the General Counsel or delegate to ensure team efficiency

**Qualifications, Skills & Experience**

Experience in healthcare and handling patient records; clinical qualification or working towards one (e.g., nursing, paramedicine, medicine, mental health, midwifery, or allied health)
. High accuracy, attention to detail, and effective time management with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
. Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to exercise initiative when appropriate
. Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
. Competence to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environmen
