The Mental Health & Wellbeing Services Division (MHWSD) is the gateway for veterans and their families to access services, including counselling, to improve their mental health and wellbeing. It promotes and provides mental health and wellbeing services towards improved outcomes and quality of life for veterans and their families. This is achieved through providing client centred, trauma informed, recovery oriented, needs driven and compassionate care, informed by the voice of the community.

This role will provide broad support in clinical policy, quality and accreditation processes and program and project development. The role will provide support in the preparation of briefing papers, submissions and correspondence for use in internal and external forums to support the work area. This role will support that work by undertaking research, scoping tasks, drafts of procurements and associated briefing, policy and operational documents.

**Duties**
- Provide support and input to the development, refinement and review of Open Arms clinical procedures and instructions, including support in implementing activities at a national and regional level.
- Support the team in the provision of nationally consistent clinical and policy advice to Open Arms staff to ensure effective service delivery.
- Support the daily management, administration and review of the policy and procedures web-based platform at an operational (not technical) level.
- Support the management of stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management.
- Provide support in scoping and drafting advice, briefing papers, submissions and correspondence for use in internal and external decision-making forums.
- Support an environment that encourages a willingness to adopt participative workplace practices in line with policies of WHS, Workplace Diversity and the Australian Public Service values, Employment Principles and the APS Code of Conduct.

**Eligibility**
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen to apply.
- You must have strong skills in high level Government and policy writing, including experience in drafting policy, briefings, parliamentary and other Governmental documents.

**Notes**

A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
