The External Audit and Risk Management section is a small team within the Audit and Risk Management Branch, General Counsel Division. The Branch has responsibility for the oversight of risk management functions along with both internal and external audit functions. Working in the Audit and Risk Management Branch provides a unique opportunity to gain an overall view of the department’s policy, program and regulatory activities.

**Duties**
- Support the day to day implementation and management of DVA’s Risk Management Policy and Framework including:

- Provide operational and policy level advice on risk management related matters.
- Promote the Risk Management Framework across all departmental business areas.
- Develop risk management information and guidance material.
- Coordinate and report on business (operation) risk including the annual DVA business planning risk assessments and quarterly status reporting.
- Input to risk management reporting activities for Governance committees as required.
- Prepare draft reports, briefing papers, talking points, discussion papers on risk and Ministerial correspondence.
- Assist in strategic planning and risk management policy development.
- Manage the annual DVA Risk Awareness Week.
- Coordinate updates and maintain DVA’s Child Safe Framework.
- Maintain DVA’s Risk intranet sites.
- Maintain risk management mail box.

**Eligibility**
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen to apply.

**Desirable**
- Professional qualifications and/or strong work experience is highly desirable (but not essential) in Risk Management or a similar discipline.
- Current Registration in a Risk Management association/professional bodies.

**Notes**

This recruitment process is being used to fill ongoing and non-ongoing positions.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 18 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 3 years.
