An APS6 Contract Management Officer opportunity exists to work on one of the most complex and challenging programs in ADF history, one that seeks to transform the ADF’s Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) capability into a fully networked, fifth-generation force better able to protect its airspace and vital assets from increasingly complex and lethal air and missile threats.

The ADSB APS6 Contract Management Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex contract management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

**About our Team**

The duties of an APS6 Contract Management Officer in ADSB include the following (note: not all duties are required to be performed during a 12 month performance cycle):

- Accountable for procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide advice, direction, assistance and services for procurement policy, technical, commercial, legal, financial investigation and other requirements to support contract management outcomes.
- Use experience to deliver procurement related documentation including templates, schedule, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk and performance reviews, contract change proposals and other contract management documentation.
- Engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders and respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action where necessary.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with supervisors, staff and team members and actively participate in team work and group activities.
- Initiate and recommend mitigation strategies for the risks associated with contract management activities, supplier’s performance and compliance with mandatory requirements and suggest relevant improvement.
- Seek, interpret and provide advice and assistance on complex procurement and contract management issues.
- Seek and act on feedback from supervisor to confirm agreed performance.
- Monitor and manage contract administration, performance and risks against the contract and contribute to appropriate action.
