**About the role**
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for monitoring the quality of care being provided to children and young people living in family-based placements. You will be the go-to person for carer suitability assessments including initial and renewal carer assessments. This position may require occasional travel dependant on business needs.
No two days will be the same in this diverse role, however, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the referral and placement processes;
- Delivering carer training, support and monitoring and supervision;
- Using a range of crisis intervention and therapeutic approaches to support families, children and young people;
- Providing in-home support services to families including after-hours and on-call services as required.
Remuneration for this role is $39.26 - $42.25 per hour commensurate with experience.
**About you**
You are passionate about the welfare of children & young people and achieving the absolute best outcomes for them. With an empathetic nature you are compassionate toward vulnerable individuals. You are approachable, and a good problem solver who is able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills are part of your skillset enabling you to build rapport with internal and external people and stakeholders easily. In addition, you have comprehensive knowledge of legislative requirements and can promote a culture of compliance.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline;
- Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks;
- Demonstrated experience in providing training and a range of supports including positive behaviour support, crisis management and self-care strategies;
- Possess or have the ability to acquire a National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card), Licensed Care Service (Child Protection).
