Your Opportunity
The Communications and Marketing Officer is an integral member of our collaborative team, helping develop creative communication and marketing strategies for departmental initiatives and programs which highlight the positive outcomes for Queensland's schools as well as the achievements of the IT Branch. We are creating a great digital future for every Queenslander
Working with like-minded communications specialists and graphic and multimedia designers, you will consult regularly with business units within the IT Branch and across the broader department to plan, write and publish marketing and communication materials using a range of channels and media. We are looking for a digital champion for the team, to help deliver best practice in visual and digital marketing with the customer experience front of mind.
Your Role
**Responsibilities include**:
- Develop and deliver communication and marketing plans and activities which promote the key policies and programs of the department.
- Undertake communication and marketing tasks including planning, writing and publishing a variety of communication and marketing materials that present a positive image of the department to the general public.
- Monitor and maintain the team webpages, tools, resources and materials.
- Write high quality content for:
- publications and other communications and marketing materials
- online and digital content including for social media
- briefing notes and correspondence.
- Provide advice to internal clients by analysing their specific communication and marketing needs.
- Ensure that the work environment is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment, that equal opportunity is applied to all staff under supervision and that the principles of cultural diversity are applied in responding to the work of the branch or the needs of individuals.
- Participate in the strategic and business planning that underpins the branch in order to achieve the delivery of the department's corporate communications.
When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
