The Strategic Communications Branch at the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning (DSDIP) offers the chance to work on projects as far-reaching and varied as unlocking land for housing, planning communities, growing industries, and supporting infrastructure right across Queensland. They're a creative, supportive, agile and values-driven team that takes a strategic, whole-of-department view to communication planning through a focus on media management, online, social media and digital strategy, marketing and creative strategic communications delivery.

In the Communications Officer role, you'll be contributing to the Strategic Communications Branch by assisting with developing and executing innovative communication strategies and tactics designed to achieve the department's priorities. This could include liaising with colleagues across the department to provide strategic communications advice, developing content and coordinating project and event logistics. With a keen emphasis on best-practice storytelling and teamwork, you'll be supporting development and implementation of a broad range of high-quality communication services and strategies through involvement and drafting of communication plans, creating content for a variety of platforms, supporting sponsorships, providing best-practice communications ideas and solutions, creating relationships with internal and external clients and supporting the team in proactively planning communications requirements for projects and events.
