
Pre-sales Solution Support

The Pre-Sales Solution Support role is a customer facing role for solutioning customer infrastructure requests. You will own assigned solutioning requests and be the liaison between the Service Line, Delivery teams and the account/customer team for presales activities on those requests.
You will take input from the customer, document and defines their requirements, after which you will obtain input from the DXC engineering teams to design a suitable solution. The technical solution and any contract/Statement of Work (SOW) needs to be integrated into a cost-effective solution that meet the customer's needs and maximises DXC’s competitive advantage. On completion of the solution, the cost for the related project work is compiled into cost models and the proposal is submitted for internal governance and customer approval.
Experience servicing the mining industry is desired and you must have the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple workloads, have a track record of delivering medium complexity IT solutions and possess a broad skillset in different technologies and project delivery models. Your experience should ideally cover the following (or similar) areas:
- Multi-cloud environments (Azure and AWS preferred)
- Server infrastructure builds and integration
- Hypervisor systems including blade stacks (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Windows and Unix systems (RHEL, Solaris, other Linux)
- Storage area networks (Dell, NetApp, 3PAR etc.)
- Server support systems including monitoring, patching, malware and data protection
- Mainframe systems
- WAN and local data networks
- Managed Services
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Use of standard tools and processes in support of the solutioning activities
- Accurate and fit for purpose solutions to suit customer budgets
- Monitor, manage and finalise the development of solution proposals and artefacts. Including ensuring that the technical solution developers answer all the requirements as issued by the customer and to the delivery timelines.
- Work effectively within the account team to engage architects, technology line managers, service delivery managers and engineers as required to form quality solutions
- Able to engage and leverage our industry partners for technical solutions to meet customer requirements
- Understanding of financial and commercial implications and being able to solution and document solutions accordingly
- Creates standard solution collateral
- Capture solution components such as requirements, risks, assumptions, contingencies, effort estimates, bill of labour, duration and lead time, vendor quotes, etc.
- Participate in Technical Solution Reviews to obtain approval from the delivery approvers
- Assist to Update/build cost models to accurately describe the solution if required
- Participate in account related sales and project status meetings as required
**SKILLS**
- Preferably 5 years of experience writing infrastructure solution proposals (or similar)
- Minimum of 5 years working experience within IT Operations or infrastructure platform management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good skills in managing/organising resources to defined timelines
- Demonstrated expertise in estimating and costing solutions
- Ability to work at enterprise scale across large customer organizations
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and maturity in working in a collaborative working environment:
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with customers.
- Consultative in interacting with customers, asking relevant questions to draw out underlying issues and validate solution options. Applies active listening techniques- Understands the role of IT across a variety of vertical industry segments including key business processes and associated IT trends. Applies industry knowledge to solution, customer presentations, and proposal content.
