Primary Purpose Of Role

  • Plan for, coordinate and lead the development of an enhanced community awareness and education program for flood and extreme
  • Develop tools, resources and programs to be incorporated into a larger awareness campaign for at risk
  • Engage, consult and collaborate in partnership with, Local Government Authorities, Non-government agencies, community groups SES volunteers and other key stakeholders to formulate initiatives that build community disaster resilience.
  • Manage the ongoing development and evolution of the community engagement and awareness program
  • Contribute to the positive image of the SASES by representing the organisation at meetings, seminars, and participating on working parties to deliver community awareness to enable high risk communities in South Australia to take action to become more resilient to flooding and extreme weather through preparing for respond to and recover from events.
  • Prepare training, programming, briefing or other program related documentation where requested
  • Contribute to Community resilience working parties as
  • Other functions as directed by the manager, in particular to support the Agency Diversity and Inclusion Plan
