**Project Officer - Environment & Sustainability**

**Full-time (12 months)**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and mission focussed project officer to drive and lead the implementation of the Queensland Synod’s Environmental Sustainability Action and Advocacy Plan across all parts of the Church. This role will see you working with teams across all aspects of the Queensland Synod, including congregations, presbyteries, schools, Wesley Mission Queensland and UnitingCare Queensland.

You will play a critical role in engaging and implementing six action themes and pathways outlined in the “Flourishing Creation” Action plan - including Empowered People & Connection, Mobility, Energy, Water, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Advocacy.

**Success in this role**:

- Develop an implementation plan to deliver on the six action themes and pathways outlined in the “Flourishing Creation, Queensland Synod Action and Advocacy Plan to 2030”:

- Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan which supports the successful implementation of the “Flourishing Creation” Plan across all parts of the church.
- Develop resources and funding opportunities that empower stakeholders across congregations, schools and service agencies to implement environmental sustainability improvements in their areas of influence.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop a system for capturing and reporting environmental sustainability performance data (e.g. energy, waste, water, fuel).
- Use initiative and resourcefulness to deliver timely and effective results with minimum supervision to organise work within agreed timeframes.
- Liaise and engage in effective communication with internal and external stakeholders or project members including problem-solving and negotiation skills to achieve project results
- Undertake administrative and logístical tasks associated with the project, including arranging project meetings as required.
