**The Role**
This person will conduct sensory analysis & reporting, product analysis and calibrations to contribute to the creation of innovative products and provide support for existing products.
- Assist in the delivery of departmental strategic plans.
- Punctually attend and actively participate in planning or team meetings.
- Collaborate with external groups as required to fulfil sensory research requirements.
- Recruit internal participants for sensory evaluation panels
- Complete assigned tasks with speed, accuracy and using safe work procedures and approved analytical methods.
- Operate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment using safe work and approved procedures.
- Complete and submit weekly time sheets in a timely manner.
- Adhere to Conditions of Entry to Analytical Laboratory and Pilot Plant.
- Identify development strategies needed to achieve career goals and makes use of developmental or training opportunities
- Develop and maintain Personal Development Plan.
- Maintain lab quality systems by focusing on continuous improvement in service and interaction with other departments/clients.
- Order required consumables.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and assist in the development and review of Safe Work Procedures (SWP) with supervision.

**Skills & Experience**
- Relevant TAFE qualifications in Science, Food Technology or related science area, or equivalent.
- Current Australian Drivers License.
- Experience in food manufacturing and analytical laboratory environments.
- Knowledge of WHS and EEO in the workplace.
- Basic food regulations, legislation and food safety.
- Basic understanding of ISO and NATA principles and requirements as applies to food analysis
- Customer focus and team orientation.
- Work independently, under supervision or in a team as needed.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Safe operating procedures for pilot plant environment or laboratory
- Personal organisation and time management skills.
