Npd Technical Assistant

**The Role**
You will support the NPD staff in the creation of innovative products and provide support for existing products. Other responsibilities of the role include:
- Complete assigned experimental tasks with accuracy and using safe work procedures, GMP and basic HACCP principles.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate (where applicable) and clean pilot plant equipment using safe work and approved procedures.
- Provide support to SDI Technical Staff when running pilot plant and factory trials.
- Order consumables.
- Works under routine supervision either individually or in a team environment.
- Occasional working out of standard hours to support project needs - primarily factory trialling.
**Skills & Experience**
- HSC qualification or equivalent
- Certificate III in Laboratory Skills &/or experience in food manufacturing environment is an advantage.
- Strong Customer focus and team orientation.
- Adequate written skills & attention to detail.
- Adequate computer skills e.g. Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently under supervision or in a team as needed
- Ability to operate food machinery in pilot plant environment
- Some knowledge of WHS and EEO in the workplace
- Some understanding of food safety as it applies to food production
- Forklift License (or ability to obtain one) is an advantage.
- Preference for current Australian Drivers License.
