**About the team**
The Safety, Environment and Regulation division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.
The Office of Deputy Secretary supports the Deputy Secretary by delivering timely and accurate information and services to the Deputy Secretary and Enterprise teams by working with and coordinating information across Safety, Environment and Regulation branches.
**The opportunity**
Right now, we have a permanent opportunity for a Manager Procurement and Commercial responsible for coordinating the Division’s (SER) Procurement governance and partnering with stakeholders and Enterprise teams to plan and advise on commercial procurement arrangements to meet organisational and business objectives effectively.
The role oversees divisional procurement activity to ensure effective administration of all procurement processes and compliance with all procurement policies, processes, procedures and governance frameworks.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to provide a commercial lens to support various projects and ad hoc tasks to assist the Senior Manager, Governance and Commercial and the Director, Office of Deputy Secretary, Safety, Environment and Regulation in achieving the Division’s goals and objectives. This will include coordination of the preparation of quality, accurate and often sensitive analyses, reports, briefings or positional papers to inform the Safety Environment and Regulation Senior Leadership Team.

**About you**
We are looking for a professional with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills who has a strong background in procurement governance and policy to ensure that the division is working within the governance framework for procurement.
You will be experienced dealing with executive level stakeholders with the ability to liaise with various operating Divisions of Transport for NSW and the Secretary’s office.
Previous experience in a commercial role involving the oversight of procurement and tendering processes, where you have analysed, interpreted and collated the reports prepared by others into a consolidated format, provided commentary, highlighting appropriate issues and ensured adherence to required frameworks is essential.
Your strong attention to detail and ability to read, analyse and synthesize information quickly will equip you well for this role and prepare reporting packs for Executive consumption which highlights areas of interest to them.
Your ability to exercise judgement in the transfer of information and advice in support of goals and objectives is highly desirable as is your ability to identify and manage risk exposure and the implementation of appropriate solutions.
You will have excellent computer skills and be well versed in using tools including Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
You must have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience at a senior level in a large organisation providing oversight and guidance around commercial aspects of the business.
Please note that this role leans to policy, systems and governance related to procurement processes rather than a role where you will be involved in the actual procurement process, your focus is to ensure that these processes are adhered to across the division.
**Salary and Benefits**
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($142,178-$159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
