**Position Information**:
Jamison High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school in western Sydney located at the foot of the Blue Mountains. The current enrolment is 886 students. The school offers a wide range of educational programs that cater to the diverse educational needs of students, including 10% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 4% language background other than English. Our school includes a support unit consisting of five classes of students with Autism.

Jamison High School has a proud tradition in the community for providing educational opportunities for all students. This is delivered through a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, HSC attainment, technology in the curriculum, STEM initiatives and wellbeing programs that support student engagement and achievement.

Science in the school is well resourced with specialist facilities including the school farm that has livestock and crops.

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated leadership skills to manage the performance of individuals and teams, with capacity to lead and inspire teachers at a range of career stages to implement best practice pedagogies and assessment practices that promote engagement and improve student learning outcomes in Science.
- Successful experience in initiating, leading and evaluating faculty initiatives to drive curriculum implementation and develop partnerships across the wider school community, enhancing student engagement and participation in Science.
- Demonstrate educational leadership to support and mentor staff in the development of a range of inclusive and effective pedagogical practices to meet the diverse educational needs of students.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and implement initiatives that address whole school strategic improvement and work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive team in driving school improvement.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
