**Position Information**:

**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach Science, Chemistry, and Physics. Willingness to teach Biology and Marine ST/Marine Aquaculture Tech.
Demonstrated capacity to lead a diverse and highly dynamic team in the implementation of Stage 6 new science syllabuses and differentiated teaching and learning resources.
Proven ability to lead professional learning which addresses current science pedagogies to increase engagement of girls in the discipline of science, including science extension.
Demonstrated capacity to lead a team in literacy and numeracy progressions in science and provide feedback to staff in analysis of performance data to inform teaching practice and set individualised improvement measures for all students.
Proven capacity to lead innovation in science to cater for current and future students’ aspirations and workforce demands.
Demonstrated ability to be an active and agile member of the school executive and with an ability to form positive professional connections with the entire school community through exceptional communication skills.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
