
National Medical Device Representative

Position Summary:
The National Medical Device Representative plays a critical role in the commercial and clinical success of Adler Ortho’s custom orthopaedic implant portfolio in Australia. This full-time, permanent position involves promoting complex surgical solutions—particularly in limb salvage, orthopaedic oncology, and revision procedures—across public and private hospitals nationally.
Key Responsibilities:Sales & Business Development
- Develop and manage strong relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, procurement officers, and hospital administrators.
- Promote Adler Ortho’s full product portfolio, including custom 3D-printed implants and modular limb salvage systems.
- Support the national rollout of the Pantheon Limb Salvage System, acting as the key clinical liaison and product specialist.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities in orthopaedic oncology and revision markets.
- Lead pricing negotiations, tender submissions, and contract management within assigned accounts.
Clinical & Technical Support
- Attend live surgeries to provide technical guidance to surgeons and theatre staff on product use and implantation technique.
- Participate in pre-operative planning, including reviewing imaging and coordinating implant specifications with the engineering team.
- Provide post-operative follow-up and troubleshooting as needed to ensure optimal outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Train clinical teams in the use, sterilisation, and configuration of surgical instrumentation and implants.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Monitor competitor activity and changes in the orthopaedic device market to inform strategic planning.
- Collect and analyse field feedback to support continuous improvement of product offerings.
- Report regularly to sales and marketing leadership on performance metrics, customer trends, and case outcomes.
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of sales calls, case involvement, quotes, and customer communications.
- Submit weekly activity reports and monthly territory performance updates.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and hospital procurement guidelines.
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in medical device sales, specifically in orthopaedics or surgical implants.
- Demonstrated experience in limb salvage, orthopaedic oncology, or custom implant planning.
- Proven ability to support surgical procedures in a theatre setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage a national territory.
- Willingness to travel interstate regularly.
- Australian driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Prior involvement with 3D-printed or custom orthopaedic implants.
- Experience launching or managing complex surgical technologies (e.g., Pantheon, Zimmer, Stryker).
- Clinical qualification (e.g., nursing, physiotherapy, biomedical engineering) or relevant life sciences degree.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
