**About the Business Unit**:
Strategic Communication delivers communication services on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety's (DJCS) business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation.

**About the Role**:
The Adviser, Media provides communication support and advice to the department's business units, senior executives and ministerial offices.

Some of your duties will include:

- Researching and preparing media releases, speeches and other communication material
- Proactively promoting initiatives and policies through the media and respond to media enquiries
- Preparing and reviewing reports on media coverage.

**About You**:

- Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of a range of media and communication activities and functions
- A knowledge of State Government and department communication policies and processes is desired, but not essential
- The ability to accept changed priorities without undue discomfort while responding quickly to changes and comfortably working in collaboration with teams outside of own organisation.
- Qualifications/Requirements:_
- A tertiary qualification in journalism, public relations or other communication-related discipline is desirable_._
