**About the role**

We have an opportunity for a **Departmental Liaison Officer** to be part of our Ministerial and Executive Services, Office of the Commissioner. The Departmental Liaison Officer contributes towards the smooth day-to-day operation of the Minister’s Office by facilitating and managing the timely dissemination of information between the NSW Police Force and the Minister’s Office. The position is a key role which supports the Minister for Police.

**Target Question 1**:
The Department Liaison Officer (DLO) role provides a wide range of administration support and services to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of a Minister’s Office (MO). The role will require you to manage multiple tasks, including competing priorities. Explain a situation when you have had to perform multiple tasks at the same time and what you did to ensure all tasks were completed in a timely manner?

**Target Question 2**:
The DLO role involves providing the MO with a readily accessible source of knowledge and skills regarding the operations of a Department. Sometimes expectations may not fit within a Department’s portfolio of responsibilities. The role will require you to influence and negotiate. Explain a situation where you were required to influence and persuade a senior person/colleague to adopt an alternative course of action to the one expected. Why did you consider your approach more appropriate, how did you influence the senior officer/colleague and what was the outcome?
