**About the Role**:
The General Manager - Family Services (GM) position is a key senior management role responsible for demonstrating business excellence in the effective delivery of services to clients through our Model of Care.

At the outset, as Ruah is in the process of launching our Karlup Service connected with the Ruah Centre for Women and Children, this role will initially be responsible for leadership of this service. After a period of 9-12 months, Ruah's wider Family Services portfolio will be report to this position to complete the alignment of all family and domestic violence services under this GM's leadership.

The GM delivers leadership across a team of professional community service delivery staff that operate Ruah’s refuges, Karlup Service, and family domestic violence outreach and other partner programs.

This role will also advocate on behalf of clients served by your team within senior and executive management decision making forums. In this regard, the GM will play a significant role in shaping the strategic focus of the organisation. The GM provides high level coaching and mentoring to direct reports to ensure agreed outcomes and performance indicators are achieved within the resources available.

This is a full-time permanent position.

**What we’re looking for**:
The successful applicants will be required to meet the following criteria:

- Extensive experience in providing inspirational leadership within the community/ Not For Profit sector with exemplary strategic, financial, operational and people management skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Purpose, Vision and Values of Ruah.
- An understanding of the political environment and current issues affecting the social or community service and welfare system.
- Extensive experience in managing a diverse portfolio of services, programs, and projects within a strong best practice, continuous quality improvement framework.
- Strong ability to analyse data and information, identify risk, opportunities, and issues for the organisation, with an ability to respond accordingly to address these, to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including strong skills in negotiation and consultation.
- Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at the highest level. Confident public speaking and presentation style.
- Financial and business skills and acumen with extensive experience in the preparation of budgets, business plans and funding submissions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion
- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural, age, and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.

The following specialist criteria will also be considered:

- Strategic understanding of Government Policies, National and International Research in how this applies to the delivery of community sector services for family and domestic violence in Western Australia.
