The Salvation Army is Australia’s largest provider of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services. Each of our services across Australia offer a unique program for people experiencing alcohol or drug problems. Residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services are just some of the options available.
We are seeking a full time, AOD State Manager to lead and oversight our Western Australian AOD operations. This position will be based at our divisional headquarters, North bridge, Perth.
THE LEADERSHIP YOU WILL BRING
You will have the capability to provide leadership of the AOD Stream within the State, including management of all services and contracts for services across the State. As part of the Social Mission leadership team you will provide input, insight and context, in the development of strategic initiatives of the Department, along with being a member of the AOD National Leadership team where you will provide input into strategy, practice and guidance documents. You with be a team player that is passionate about building healthy culture and championing your team to succeed.
THE ROLE YOU COULD PLAY
- Work collaboratively with other Social Mission State Managers (Homelessness, Family Violence and Youth) as well as national AOD Leadership to lead the review, consolidation and growth of services within the State
- Plan for and lead the implementation of national frameworks and practice within your remit
- Build a State team of social service professionals to deliver services within the State
- Seek out, identify and act on new funding opportunities
- Be across changes and trends in the sector in the State and adapt service delivery where appropriate
- Implementation of national research and evaluation frameworks across the State to assist in measuring outcomes of service delivery
- Manage the risk associated to delivery of services across the State and ensure risk management processes are implemented
- Prepare and manage to budget for service delivery
- Develop all team members through providing regular performance planning and appraisal, coaching, training, development and performance management (as needed)
- Be a leader in the sector within the State and represent the interests of clients in various forum
- Ensure active support for local mission delivery model in the State and participation in local area leaderships team
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
- Qualification in business or equivalent business management experience is considered advantageous
- Senior management experience in social and community services programs
- The ability to foster a culture of excellence in service delivery
- Ability to drive strategy and governance within own area of responsibility
- A current Western Australian Drivers Licence is essential
- Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
- A national police record check is required
