Shipping & Receiving Specialist

**Job Description Summary**: GE Aerospace Australia currently conducts repairs on both Civil and Military Aviation components for the APAC region. This role will contribute to the success of the business by providing a high level of logistics support to all workshops to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the business. This will be accomplished by working closely with the Sourcing, Planning, Operations, other GE Aerospace personnel, customers, global suppliers as well as freight forwarders for prompt efficient material supply and service provision.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Prompt and efficient processing of incoming/outgoing freight such as spares repairs to workshops, customers and 3rd party repair sites to meet required turnaround times
- Work with freight forwarders to ensure mínimal disruptions within the supply chain
- Participation in cyclic and/or 100% stock takes and general housekeeping Support tooling calibration, import/export, SDS compliance (safety data sheet) and Quarantine processes
- Demonstrate understanding of specialised receipt requirements within the business system
- Work independently or as part of a team to develop problem solving solutions to deliver customer service solutions to meet the customer requirements.
- Support roster 24 hr customer AOG line (Aircraft on Ground)
- Stock control and picking of parts with a high attention to detail.
- Develop understanding and adhere Site Quality, Safety Management and EH&S policies as well as other compliance requirements. Bring forward for resolution any identified risks utilising provided systems.
- Obtain 3rd party DG Certification
- Contribute to team success by participating in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving events.
- Understand and practice ATA spec 300 (Aviation Industry standard for packing and handling aeronautical product) Assist with the control quarantine processes and the return of spares to suppliers for efficient processing of replacement spares and credits. Manual handling & Lifting Regulatory compliance and document retention. Compliance to all GE guidelines and policies. Other duties as and when required.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- High level of attention to detail and a positive attitude
- Ability to use initiative and work as part of a team or autonomously.
- Minimum Intermediate excel skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance if required
- Excellent time management skills

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Previous Experience with Lean principles
- Knowledge of the Aviation industry & terminology
- Experience working in a Global Corporate environment.
