**Role Description/Criteria**

Holy Name requires the services of a Learning Support officer. The successful applicant will be required to work Three days a week from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. This is a fixed term contract until the end of the year. This specific role will be supporting the classroom teacher and assisting the learning needs of our students.

Holy Name is a community of learners, that values strong relationships and has its emphasis on evidence based learning. We require an organised, enthusiastic and positive person to fulfil this role.

The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with the other LSO’s, the Holy Name staff and the Learning Diversity leader.

The staff at Holy Name Primary School work hard to ensure the success and growth in learning of all its students. Working as a team, each member ensures that children in their care achieve success.

The Learning Support Officer (LSO) is appointed by the Principal and works under the supervision of the Learning Diversity Leader and Classroom Teacher. In their role of assisting Students with Disabilities (SWD) to integrate in a mainstream setting and to access the mainstream curriculum at the child’s point of need. Previous experience is preferable, but not essential.

The LSO will work with students with disabilities, impairments or learning difficulties across all areas and all levels. We expect that the applicant appointed will implement Holy Name’s philosophy through modelling and supporting the goals of the school and to proactively participate in their own ongoing development and learning.
