ASC’s Training Services team deliver a range of submarine training courses and support services to train the next generation of Navy submariners. This rewarding role is an opportunity to share your knowledge to train submarine sailors in combat system and communications maintenance. You will also contribute to training development, technology updates and other related activities.

We operate from a world-class training facility in partnership with uniformed Navy staff. We enjoy a supportive team environment and an outstanding work-life balance at HMAS Stirling, Garden Island, Rockingham.

**About the Opportunity**

Reporting to the Senior Instructor you will:

- Deliver training to submariners in the maintenance and use of combat systems equipment
- Teach classroom, practical and simulator classes using a range of specialist training aids
- Tailor your delivery style to meet the learning needs of your students
- Assess student competency and complete administrative documentation
- Develop and maintain training materials and courseware
- Actively update own knowledge and skills to maintain currency
- Complete Training Impact Assessments in response to Configuration Change Proposals
- Provide a safe, secure and effective training environment
- Provide a high standard of customer service, acting in accordance with ASCs values.

**About you**

You will possess the following essential criteria:

- Knowledge of combat system and communication equipment maintenance i.e. Sonar, Radar, Tactical Handling Systems
- Certificate III Electrical Engineering
- A strong understanding of security and data handling requirements
- Eligibility to obtain a Department of Defence security clearance Negative Vetting 1 (NV1)
- Be an exemplar role model with confident presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop the skills and knowledge of others, using adult learning principles

And will possess the following highly desired criteria:

- Collins Class Submariner qualification
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher level qualification in adult education
- Understanding of training and assessment quality frameworks
- Previous practical experience delivering training within the Defence sector
- Proficiency with bespoke Defence software packages
- First Aid Certificate
