About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Combat Systems Engineering Manager to join our Maritime Sustainment Function based at Garden Island, NSW reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
The Combat System Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering the engineering outputs of the project within the triple constraints of cost, schedule and scope (henceforth referred to as Integrated Project Performance). In doing this, the Combat System Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the engineering outputs are developed in accordance with the approved processes and meet the agreed operational needs of the customer.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers and technical officers to perform, review and / or manage packages of engineering work in support of the DDG Combat
- Act as the point of contact with the customers to understand the customer requirements and develop and maintain the contract technical solution accordingly, addressing any disparity with the Project Manager
- Undertake proactive liaison and communication with other associated entities within the DDG Enterprise
- Coordinate Software Engineering and Management activities across the SPO as outlined in the Software Management Plan
- Ensure adherence to engineering cost and schedule commitments

About YOU
- Tertiary qualification in systems engineering or similar discipline is desirable
- Prior experience working in the defence sector is desirable
- Ability to self-motivate and engaged with a number of closed teams
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain a NV1 clearance
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
