About the role:
Play a key role in supporting the Royal Australian Navy's Hobart Class Destroyers and their world-class Aegis Combat System. As part of our Naval Combat Systems Engineering Team, you'll help shape the future of maritime capability by delivering critical upgrades and enhancements to in-service platforms.
In this role, you will:
- Provide engineering expertise and advice across all elements of the Aegis Combat System.
- Act as a technical liaison between Defence, Australian Industry, the Destroyer Enterprise and international partners.
- Develop and deliver Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and support the implementation of Combat System upgrades on Hobart Class DDGs.
- Undertake engineering investigations and contribute to root-cause analysis of Combat System issues.
- Support integration, testing and evaluation of capability updates.
- Provide localised technical guidance to the RAN and ensure alignment with enterprise stakeholders.
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or related engineering.
- Proven experience across the systems engineering lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, test).
- Background in naval combat systems or similarly complex military systems.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and produce clear technical documentation.
- Experience in risk identification and mitigation.
- Experience with naval, combat, or complex military systems is highly regarded.
- An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information.
