**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Operational Control and Management Systems (OCMS) Delivery Escrow Projects team in Metro Trains Melbourne is responsible for the delivery of multiple portfolios of Department of Transport (DOT) Escrow funded technology projects.
These portfolios include Cyber Security, Enterprise Applications and Operational Control Systems. The Portfolio Manager - Operational Control Systems role is responsible for leading the portfolio of Operational Control Systems technology projects, whilst ensuring all works are performed according to OCMS compliance frameworks, safety and security standards and other statutory/ regulatory requirements.
Aligned to the Operational Control Systems portfolio, the role will provide domain specific project management leadership across this portfolio of projects. Previous experience with Rail signalling and control systems or Industrial control systems is preferred.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- You will be required to work effectively with relevant Asset and Application Managers, senior OCMS Managers and a range of staff (including operations) across Metro Trains.
- Lead high performing project delivery teams and ensure that all projects in the portfolio are successfully progressed through the key project phases including Initiate, Plan, Deliver and Close in compliance with the MTM OCMS PMO Framework
- Mitigate risks to minimise their effect on project delivery whilst ensuring that development standards are maintained and conform to applicable safety, reliability and quality standards.
- Identify and manage project interdependencies across the portfolio and other internal and external.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise-level governance requirements, such as management of change (MOC) and Change Control Board (CCB)
- Provide timely, accurate status reporting of all assigned projects.
- Prepare status and governance reports and attend governance meetings as required to satisfy both internal (PMO) and external (Dept of Transport) governance requirements.
- Ensure there are sufficient, appropriate resources available to complete delivery of assigned projects; facilitate recruitment of additional team member as required. Additionally ensure that required resources are optimised across the domain portfolio of projects.
- Secure resources from supporting OCMS/MTM groups including finance, legal, procurement, development, cyber security etc.
**ABOUT YOU**
- Demonstrable experience in managing the delivery of large, complex programs of work
- Project management accreditation and/or relevant professional qualifications such as Prince2.
- Aligned to the technology domain portfolio e.g., Enterprise, Cyber Security, Operational Control Systems (OCS) or other future defined portfolios, working knowledge and project managements experience in relevant domain technologies and interfaces.
- Proven experience of operating in complex, commercial environments. Ideally have proven success delivering in industries such as Energy, Transport, Telecommunications-based organizations
- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, reporting and documentation skills
