**Your new role**

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Construction & Strategy - Equities, the position will provide support in the management of the aggregate International Equity Portfolio.

The role is required because the equities portfolio has grown in size and complexity. There is a need for greater sophistication in portfolio construction and high-quality input on equity strategy. This role will be heavily involved in stakeholder management as well as focusing on investment markets and the day-to-day management of portfolios.

This role will involve researching and analysing equity markets, sectors and themes to guide construction of the equities portfolios and could include management of specific portfolios and/or overlays.

Consistent with our One Portfolio approach, you will proactively collaborate with peers and colleagues within the Equities team and the Fund more broadly to share and drive best practice portfolio construction frameworks and processes.

Building effective working relationships with key stakeholders - including the wider Equities team (Fundamental, Systematic, Manager Research) and central Investments Department functions (Asset Allocation, Capital Markets etc.) will be critical to the success of the role.

**What you’ll need**
- Extensive direct equity investing experience in a fund management or investment banking environment with international equities experience strongly desired.
- Proven experience in equity portfolio construction and strategy that delivers investment performance in line with objectives and approved strategy.
- The ability to recommend new portfolio strategies and improve portfolio construction frameworks and processes.
- Strong fundamental investment research background, with the ability to research, analyse and make recommendations on equity portfolio strategy and how to position the equities portfolio in the medium term across regions, sectors, styles and stock specific attributes.
- Confidence and ability to articulate investment views to a broad group of experienced investors.
- Willing to respectfully challenge others investment views and logic particularly as part of the Equity Insights and Portfolio Construction forums and have your own views challenged and tested by peers..
- Post graduate qualifications (eg MBA, CFA) are strongly desired.
