About the School
Toowong State School, established in 1880, celebrates its heritage, when the school 'Strives to Progress' the individual needs of students in an innovative, inclusive and nurturing environment. One of our special features is that we are a school where everybody knows everyone else by name and takes a special interest in who they are and their welfare. Diversity and inclusion are obvious strengths of Toowong State School. The school population includes many international families and a small group of deaf children. The international families contribute a richness of culture to our school community. The school has established a bilingual/bicultural program to meet the needs of our deaf children.
About the Role
As the Deputy Principal, you will have responsibility for the following:

- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
