**Position Purpose**

Located in the Student Journey Services portfolio within Student and Library Services, the
Future Student Officers are the face of the University’s recruitment efforts. They work
collaboratively with others across the university to develop and deliver a wide range of
activities to achieve the University’s domestic recruitment and engagement objectives.

**About the Work Area
The Student Journey Services portfolio embeds the Future Student Team, Outreach Team,
Student Enquiry and Student Transition functions, to inspire, inform, recruit, convert, support
and transition enabling, undergraduate and postgraduate students to study at Murdoch
University. We seek understanding of the diversity of student journeys and place the student at
the centre of our operations.

**Key Responsibilities/Duties
1. Under the direction of the Manager Future Student Engagement, implement domestic
recruitment and engagement strategy, including objectives, priorities, tactics,
resources, and targets for the domestic market.

2. Liaise closely with the Murdoch discipline groups to identify, develop, and promote
academic programs to attract high-calibre domestic students.

3. Support Murdoch disciplines with the preparation of engagement activity that has a
recruitment focus, to support domestic student recruitment objectives.

4. Counsel, and provide support, to prospective students on course selection and other
aspects of university life providing the information required to ensure that students
can make the best decisions on their future.

5. Represent the University at schools, partner organisations, exhibitions, and other off
- campus events to generate interest amongst future students and key influencers.

6. Contribute to the planning coordination of on-campus activities designed to showcase
the university to future students.

7. Work with Murdoch disciplines and other Professional Services teams to coordinate and
deliver targeted recruitment activities.

8. Develop and maintain relationships with key external agencies and individuals to
support domestic recruitment activities and assist in growing awareness of Murdoch
University.

9. Contribute to the running of the Student Ambassador program through the recruitment
of appropriate current students, mentoring these students, and supervising their
participation in targeted recruitment activities.

10. Other duties as required.

**Selection Criteria
**Essential
1. A degree with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of
relevant experience and/or education/training.

2. Highly effective communication, including presentations, and interpersonal skills,
with the ability to create, maintain and enhance relationships with students, staff and
other stakeholders.

3. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to create, maintain and enhance
relationships with school students, university students, staff and other stakeholders.

4. Proven experience in developing, coordinating, and managing highly successful
events.
