Job Overview
We are currently seeking a commercially astute and customer focused Business Unit Manager
- Motors to join our team in Rutherford.
You will lead a team of Electrical and Mechanical trades while working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Motors unit within our business, whilst maintaining a heavy focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations and commercial requirements.
**The Business Unit Manager
- Motors, is responsible for**:
The management of the relationship between Komatsu and its customers with regards to all Electric motors, VFD products and on-site electrical testing within the Hunter Valley facility.
The achievement of our customer’s operational objectives whilst maintaining a commitment to protect the organisation’s commercial position.
The efficient and cost-effective running of the business unit. This will require continual oversight on financial data relating to its operation, as well as the effective management of the unit’s assets and labour resources.
A commitment to ensuring a culture of Zero harm and ongoing participation in safety initiatives that are designed to prevent accidents within the workplace.
Participation in the quoting, estimating and planning processes relating to all Electric Motors and other serviced products within the unit.
Key Job Responsibilities
Oversee and develop the Australasian business for all repair and rebuild opportunities for Electric motors and other products serviced within the unit.
Continued development of Zero harm culture including ensuring accountability and involvement in managing risk behaviours
Maintain complete accountability for the development of revenue opportunities whilst ensuring the efficient and effective running of the respecting workshop
Ensuring unit capacity planning is accurate and that projects are delivered on time to budget
Manage workforce in accordance with respective labour laws and requirements
Administration duties related to Operations performance including weekly performance reports, ensuring metrics are updated and performance is in line with budgets
Improve workforce productivity.
Mentor and provide technical expertise
Qualifications/Requirements
Certificate III - Relevant Trade qualifications.
Post trade / Tertiary education desirable but not essential
7 years’ Electric motor product knowledge
Previous experience overseeing a complex industrial workshop/ team environment or similar
Exceptional customer relationship management skills
Proficient use of Office suite, excel, word, power point
