**About the Role - Administrative Officer, Casey Hospital Emergency Department**
Joining our team as an Emergency Administration Officer, your desire to help others especially in their urgent situations, will be well met by this job. You will be the first contact for many visitors to our 24 hour emergency area. You must create an excellent first impression of Monash Health by providing a friendly, courteous, and professional greeting to all visitors to the Emergency Department either by telephone or in person, and to support them in relation to the purpose for their contact and/or visit. Along with other Administration tasks as they arise. The Emergency Department Administrative Officer position is a key multi skilled role in registering, admitting, transferring, and discharging all patients who attend the Emergency Department. The role also provides administrative support to the medical and nursing staff and responding to patient enquiries within the Emergency Department.
**Data Entry**:
- Ensure all data recorded at registration, admission, transfer, and discharge of patients is as accurate and timely as possible
- Complete transport bookings as requested by clinical staff
- Capture of signature on consent form for all public, private, TAC, Workcover and overseas visitors
**Reception/Customer Service**:
- Managing all incoming telephone, counter and written requests and enquiries
- Greet patients/visitors in a friendly and courteous manner
- General reception duties
- Direct relatives to the relevant areas of the Emergency Department
- Assist with requests from clinical staff
- Replenish stationery as required
**Information management**:
- Registration, admission, transfer, and discharge patients on iPM and EMR
- Liaise with medical and nursing staff in relation to patient enquiries and admission related functions
- Resolve information problems (trouble shooting) as required in a timely manner
- Attend department related meetings as required
- Collating patient paperwork, ambulance sheets and medical communication for delivery to Scanning Centre
- Other administrative duties as required

- Work in partnership with colleagues and other units to ensure an integrated approach to the delivery of quality outcomes within Monash Hospital and throughout Monash Health.
- Contribute toward the promotion of a friendly and cooperative work environment
- Keep working colleagues informed and share relevant and useful information
- Paging of inpatient teams as requested by clinical staff

Our Emergency Department at Casey Hospital in Berwick, services the communities and surrounds of Casey and Cardinia. Over 66,000 people present to the emergency department each year. Inclusive of medical, surgical, paediatric, maternity, mental health and subacute. We have recently expanded with the addition of general medical beds, additional operating theatres, Cardiac Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit and increase of pathology and pharmacy services.
