Queensland Rail has an exciting new opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Systems Officer based at our Qantas Drive Multi User Depot in Brisbane.

**Your opportunity**

The **Mechanical Systems Officer** position sits within the Signalling Asset Renewals (SAR) team. The team is responsible for replacing and upgrading signalling assets across the entire QR network including regional areas. This work is a combination of workshop fabrication, on-site installation and commissioning (testing and certification).

**You’ll be responsible for**:

- Assist Coordinator with timelines and works requirements, including conducting site inspections
- Provide mentorship and leadership to Senior System Maintainers
- Ensure the team is working to safety and quality standards
- Supervise the install and repair mechanical signalling equipment
- Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, programs and costing systems
- Report on actual maintenance performed verses the scheduled maintenance program, equipment performance and condition irregularities

**This role will be ideal for people who**:

- Must have a current drivers’ licence
- Must have a Certificate III in Mechanical Rail Signalling and experience in signalling construction
- Are a team player who can be relied upon to work autonomously and lead by example
- Available to work away from home for up to 10-day durations when required
- Demonstrated commitment to safety

Must have the flexibility to work away from home, some overtime and weekends when required
