**About the role**

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Release of Information Officer to join the team to fulfil our information release obligations within our Cancer Care Division. The Medicolegal Officer manages all release of information requests from external parties including the Coroner, the Courts (subpoenas), Health Ombudsman, Health Complaints Commission, Australian Government Professional Services Review, other government departments (such as the Parole Board) and general release of information requests from legal firms, insurers, other healthcare providers and patients.

**About you**

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
Skills/Experience
- Medicolegal experience in the health sector
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and Windows based and medical practice software packages and troubleshoot same.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, self-organise and achieve defined goals.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication and collaborative problem-solving skills when managing difficult and sensitive issues with team members and other customers.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior Privacy Act training (mandatory)
- Tertiary legal or health information management qualification (desired)
