**Assignment Description**

The Executive Practice Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of Waratah’s counselling and advocacy services, ensuring trauma-informed, client-centered, and evidence-based practices. The role supports the Leadership Team by identifying service strengths and areas for improvement, while contributing to strategic planning, organisational culture, and stakeholder engagement as part of the Executive Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- LEADERSHIP
- Provide strategic and clinical leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally safe services.
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and learning-focused team culture.
- Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, supervision, and professional development.
- Drive service innovation, integration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead program design, evaluation, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and accreditation requirements.
- Support funding submissions and reporting to funding bodies.
- SERVICE DELIVERY
- Oversight and development of quality practices for the counselling and advocacy and outreach services.
- Ensure service delivery that is trauma-informed, client-centred and culturally safe
- Monitor team performance against targets and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate, current and complaint client records and documentation.
- Support continuous quality improvement by contributing to evaluations, audits, and client feedback processes.
- STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & COLLABORATION
- Represent Waratah in sector forums, advocacy initiatives, and public campaigns.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including funders, service providers, and community organisations.
- Monitor sector trends to ensure services remain responsive and evidence-based.
- Promote awareness of family and domestic violence (FDV) through strategic engagement and education initiatives.
- Foster positive relationships with referral networks and external partners.
- QUALITY, RISK AND COMPLIANCE
- Oversee risk management, safeguarding, and clinical governance within counselling and advocacy services.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and best practice frameworks.
- Lead implementation of evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate regular team collaboration to reflect on practice, share knowledge, and support professional development.

**Qualifications Required**
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
- Extensive senior leadership experience in counselling, mental health, or social services.
- Proven ability to deliver accessible, culturally safe, trauma-informed counselling.
- Successful program development, management, and evaluation in clinical or advocacy settings.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, advocacy, and therapeutic frameworks.
- Advanced skills in staff leadership, stakeholder engagement, and report writing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in not-for-profit or community-based organisations.
- Knowledge of funding compliance and reporting processes.
