**About the role**

The primary purpose of this role is to proactively manage a defined claims authority whilst supporting the Claims Leadership and State Management team goals and objectives.

Reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Ensuring legitimate claims are paid in accordance with policy conditions, by providing technical expertise and management.
- Reviewing and approving all Claim Declinatures before they are issued to the respective client
- Conversing confidently with Builders, Engineers, Assessors, Brokers, Strata Managers and various internal stakeholders
- Identifying and sharing possible improvement areas with claims processes and procedures, to deliver best practice and market leading claims management and service.
- Liaising with accounts team in relation to cheque and electronic funds transfers, recoveries without reference, etc.
- Disclosing any claims which require the involvement of an underwriter (i.e. Risk Recommendation or survey required etc.).
- Maintain strong relations with key Brokers and Strata Managers, working closely with the State Manager.

**What you need to be successful**:

- Ideally over 2 years experience in a claims role - strata insurance but not essential
- Successful completion of Insurance Institute qualifications (Associate +) or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
- Proven interpersonal skills, effective problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong business acumen and ability support change management strategies through your people skills
