Work closely with the State Claims Manager to drive best practice claims management within a commercial motor portfolio

The Opportunity

Our Claims Consultant will work closely with their State Claims Manager to support the efficient management of the State's claims portfolio. You will lead by example for best practice in claims management, coaching and mentoring other Claims Consultant to deliver an exceptional service to our customers. Day to day, you will:

  • Be the main point of call for our customers, their representatives and other teams in our business on phone and email
  • Manage a portfolio of claims that you will own end to end from lodgement through to settlement
  • Complete payment authorisations within delegations
  • Conduct quality assurance audits of claims activities
  • Manage complaints as and when required

What skills will you need to succeed?

You will have a background in motor claims management coupled with the ability to confidently manage a portfolio of complex claims. You will be comfortable coaching and giving feedback to others and have a passion to see the whole team succeed. Your core skills will be:

  • Decisiveness | We back each other and ourselves to make the right call for our customers
  • Time Management | We prioritise our work and be proactive to keep claims moving forward

We're all about the right fit for our team, but we'd also love to see:

  • Experience working as Claims Consultant, heavy motor background would be highly regarded
  • Well developed problems solving skills – you've learnt to see things differently and seek solutions wherever possible
  • A commitment to your learning – either having completed or willing to complete your Cert IV or Diploma in General Insurance (we'll fund it if you haven't done it)
